Federal & State Governments
CHIPS for America Act of 2022, empowering federal and state governments by providing funding and other resources to boost the domestic semiconductor manufacturing sector.
THE 2020 PANDEMIC, COMBINED WITH THE EXISTING GEO-POLITICAL REALITIES CREATED A WAKEUP CALL.
The microchip supply chain sourcing map shows the concentration of key process components in Asia which points to the U.S.’s vulnerable position due to lack of domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity. The supply chain disruptions caused by the global pandemic in 2020 also affected worldwide access to microchips. The rise in global inflation and economic hardship were partly caused by this disruption.

CHIPS FOR AMERICA ACT OF 2022
A new U.S. Legislation creating opportunities while addressing the urgent need for expanding domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity. In addition to authorizing the investment of $50 billion to supercharge domestic semiconductor research and manufacturing, this legislation also establishes a goal to increase workforce development and opportunities for employment in the high-tech industry.
